CAST: CATHERINE DENEUVE, CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG, CHIARA MASTROIANNI, BENOÎT POELVOORDE
One night in a provincial French city, after missing his train back to Paris, Marc meets Sylvie. The pair wander the streets until morning, talking happily, falling in love and making a date to meet again. When circumstances prevent this reunion, Marc searches for Sylvie but ends up finding someone else: Sophie. What Marc doesn’t realise is that Sophie is Sylvie’s sister.
After a stellar 40-year career, director Benoît Jacquot proves that he is still at the top of his game with the classic love triangle of 3 Hearts. Echoing great Hollywood melodramas such as An Affair To Remember, but told with a fresh, contemporary voice this is both an emotionally rich and rewarding enjoyably suspenseful film.
The cast is superb, with a palpable sense of magnetism between Marc (Benoît Poelvoorde), Sylvie (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and Sophie (Chiara Mastroianni). French cinema icon Catherine Deneuve plays the mother of the two sisters in love with the same man. Whose heart will survive the dramatic tension?
PLEASE NOTE: Film screened in French with English subtitles
