Since it debuted in 2006, Paris, Je T’Aime has become a modern French classic. In an encore presentation, it is back on the big screen in this year’s Festival to take audiences through the arrondissements of Paris with a series of short films inspired by the subject of love and the city itself.
This audacious and utterly entertaining film presents 20 vignettes in a variety of genres directed by a range of brilliant directors, from France’s Olivier Assayas and Bruno Podalydès to American auteurs including Ethan and Joel Coen, Gus Van Sant and Alexander Payne.
The star-studded cast is equally eclectic, including Fanny Ardant and Bob Hoskins as a couple trying to reinvigorate their marriage, Juliette Binoche as a grieving mother and Steve Buscemi as a hapless tourist in the Métro.
A portmanteau film packed with delights, Paris Je T’Aime offers a welcome return to the City of Lights with a selection of love stories of every shape and size.
