This is a joyous road-movie of an Algerian and his cow that paints a heart-warming portrait of a France that is caring and compassionate.
Fatah (Franco-Algerian comic Fatsah Bouyahmed) has a dream; to take the love of his life, his prize cow Jacqueline, to compete in the Paris International Agricultural Show. One day, after many attempted applications, he receives the prestigious invitation. Fatah, who has never been outside the walls of his village, sets out on a boat with his beloved Jacqueline to Marseilles and across France by foot, heading to the fair at the Porte de Versailles. Along their way, this odd couple learns some very important life lessons as they encounter a myriad of colourful and entertaining characters, including a French noble (played by Lambert Wilson, Cycling with Molière, AF FFF14) in his dilapidated chateau, and a thuggish immigrant brother-in-law.
Hilarious misunderstandings combined with priceless comedic moments and a good dose of tenderness, this is a sweet tale about determination that will have you laughing till the cows come home.
