Based on the real-life story of the Salt and Pepper band, Silver Rockers is a feel-good film, celebrating life at every age – a testament to classic rock music and a reminder that at heart, we are all ‘born to be wild.’
Aspiring rock singer Alex (Mathilde Seigner, Edmond, AF FFF20) is at a low point. Caught between her stagnant singing career, family issues and growing debt, she finds herself in desperate need of work and a fresh start. When offered a job teaching retired singers in a seniors-only choir, Alex accepts without hesitation – after all, what could possibly go wrong? Presented with a repertoire of tired children’s songs, her students immediately push back in protest. Like Alex, the group only have one passion – rock music! Eventually caving to their demands, Alex ditches nursery rhymes – delving into a bizarre new world where rock meets choir. Despite their many triumphs, Alex will learn that her latest adventure isn’t without complications as the choir hustles to bring their rock ‘n’ roll dreams to life against all odds.
Heart-warming and packed to the brim with laughs, watch the choir take to their Zimmer frames, seizing the opportunity to enjoy life and feel young again.
